As a winemaker, Pedro Rosell knows that patience, hard work and dedication are crucial to obtaining good results in the world of wine.
He took his first steps as a winemaker at the School of Agriculture and Oenology Domingo Faustino Sarmiento of the School of Agricultural Sciences, National University of Cuyo, in Mendoza. Then he was granted a scholarship by the French government to perfect his knowledge at the Bordeaux University Institute of Oenology. There he met the prestigious French winemaker Émile Peynaud, who became his mentor and encouraged him to enter into the world of sparkling wines.
Today Pedro Rosell is one of the most acclaimed sparkling wine winemakers in Argentina, and has advised a large number of wineries.
When it comes to making good sparkling wines, it is often necessary to leave rational analysis aside and trust your senses. Pedro Rosell is well aware of that. In fact, he maintains that making good sparkling wines usually involves taking "purely sensory decisions."
